Markie Post

Markie Post grew up in Walnut Creek, California and began her career in films and TV shows, such as Card Sharks (1978) and "The New Card Sharks" (1986) and went on to even produce such projects as Double Dare (1976) and was a guest on TV shows like 1st to Die (2003), E! True Hollywood Story (1996), Electra Woman (2001) and Dyna Girl (2001). One of her most memorable TV performance was "Christine Sullivan" on Night Court (1984). She was featured in the show's 156 episodes from 1984 until 1992. Marylee (Armstrong) Post was her mother. She was a noted poet and nuclear scientist Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918-April 7, 2015). There were two daughters she had with her second husband Michael A. Ross: Katie Ross (born June 26 1997) and Daisy Ross (born March 30, 1990). She was born in Palo Alto, California, and grew up in Walnut Creek, California. She was a cheerleader at Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek, California. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts at Lewis & Clark College, Portland Oregon. She was part of the trick roping team in The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). Her body was cremated, and her ashes returned to her husband Michael A. Ross. She was a long-time Democrat. Markie Post passed away on the 7th of August in 2021. She died just three months from what would have been her 71st birthday on November 4. She passed away 27 days following Charles Robinson, her Night Court (1984), co-star, who died on July 11, 2021. Even though they were entirely distinct shows, Night Court (1984), where she was the lead, ended in 1992 with Christine Sullivan leaving for Washington DC. Hearts Afire (1992) the show, in which Post played a new role Georgie lahti (who also, coincidentally, had worked in Washington DC before moving to smaller areas) was released in 1992.
